Photographs can be very accurate in describing and documenting the world. But they almost always lack certain information that could be useful to the viewer. In this series I replaced photographic material for actual botanics. This way the scale and texture are now present in the image.
With photography Anne Geene (1983) archives, organizes, interprets and arranges the world around her. Later she analyses and catalogues this information in a seemingly logic way. Seemingly, because interpretation of the collected data is essentially personal and an ironic reference to our eagerness to orden and know everything. In 2014 she won the ING Unseen Talent Award. Her work is purchased for several collections and selected for shows both national and international.
